What does it cost to use BlogFuel?
BlogFuel is free to use. If you do not have an amazon.co.uk or amazon.com affiliate id then any purchases made by users visiting amazon as a result of your BlogFuel code will generate a commision for us. If you do have your own affiliate id then the following revenue sharing model operates. In lists of ten items returned, items 2 and 8 will always have our affiliate code even if you have entered your own id. This effectively gives us a 20% share of revenue FOR 10 ITEM LISTS ONLY. If your search returns a shorter list then this figure will vary. In a list of 7 items then our revenue share would be approximately 14%. If you use a search that generates a list shorter than 4 items (for instance a 'what I am reading now' feature using ASIN search) then you will not share any of your commissions earned with us. Why does BlogFuel not work with my blogspot hosted blog.
Blogger translates character codes (such as the %23 for the hash code) back to the original characters when publishing to blogspot. Get around this by using color names (black, white, lightred darkgray etc) when using blogfuel with blogspot. Can I control how many items appear in a blogfuel box?
Most searches return upto ten items. In practice this figure will almost always be ten but some searches (authorsearch on a new author for instance) may return less, but don't bank on it. There are usually several versions of each product and amazon will always try and get as much product in front of the customer as possible. The way to guarantee fewer results is to use the ASIN search. Data will then only be returned for the ASIN numbers you specify (equivalent to ISBN numbers for books). This method can easily be used to return data for a single book. Posted by : Dave on Friday, January 23, 2004
Why are there no faq entries yet?
Because..... I have only just finished creating this tool and haven't got around to posting any faq entries. Have some patience. And pity. But seriously folks, as faq stands for 'frequently asked questions' I can't really post any answers until I get the questions, send yours here. Posted by : Dave on Tuesday, January 20, 2004
